One sunny day, rescuers from Howl Of A Dog spotted a puppy roaming the side of a busy road. Not only did the pup look abandoned and ragged, but he also looked disoriented.
With cars and trucks zooming by, this was clearly not a safe place for a dog so young.
It is already heartbreaking to imagine what an abandoned puppy would feel while being all alone on a scary road. To make matters worse, the rescuers discovered he was disoriented due to being unwell and ridden with ticks.
They had to rescue him no matter what.

Rescuing The Pup
Due to the pup’s unfortunate condition, the rescuers knew they had to save him as soon as possible. But because of vehicles passing by, they didn’t want to risk scaring the poor stray and have him run towards traffic.
With patient and helpful hearts, the rescuers waited until the pup felt at ease with their presence. They waited for an hour before the pup finally let them approach him.
Tugging their heartstrings, this adorable pooch stretched out his paw as a sign of trust to his kindhearted saviors! He was still friendly despite his difficult life.
It seemed all was well, and the dog felt comfortable in his first car ride with his rescuers—until they took a closer look at his fur.
Fleas were the least of this pooch’s worries. The rescuers knew they had to rush this hapless hound to the vet quickly.

Treatment And Rehabilitation
Aside from numerous fleas crawling all over this pup’s fur, there were also huge ticks aggressively latched on him. On top of that, the vet diagnosed him with Demodectic Mange.
According to experts, Demodectic Mange is caused by a parasitic mite that lives in hair follicles. For older dogs with healthy immune systems, this mite isn’t a cause for alarm. However, a sick puppy is a prime host for this mite.
Young and weak immune systems will let this mite rapidly multiply, resulting in extreme hair loss and scaling skin lesions that become red and dry.
These findings did not bode well for this poor pooch, whose immune system was weakened due to his life as a stray. Bald patches were already found on his snout, which could easily spread.
Luckily, the vet quickly prescribed medication and special baths that helped with his immune system and prevented further lesions. Howl Of A Dog’s shelter also became his temporary home as he recovered.
They gave this charming “polar bear” puppy the name Fram.

A Fur-Ever Home For Fram
Fram made a wonderful recovery and quickly healed his immune system and coat. He thrived at the shelter with his new human friends and pooch pals.
But the good tidings didn’t stop yet for Fram! He eventually found his fur-ever home with a wonderful family from England, who previously welcomed another dog named Buzu from Howl Of A Dog.
It’s a happy ending for this resilient pup and his lonesome street-roaming days are long gone.
