Because of their line of work, animal shelter staff always see a lot of heartbreaking situations involving animals. But the rescuers over at Howl Of A Dog were not prepared for the call they got one winter day.

They were shocked and appalled to find out that they were called to save four very young puppies discarded and abandoned in the cold.

Chilling Circumstance

The rescuers estimated that the puppies were only a few weeks old. Without their mother, they were too young to look for food or fend for themselves in the wild.

They were heartlessly dumped in a random village in the countryside of Romania. Continuous exposure to the elements could have spelled trouble for the pups!

Cold, confused, and scared, the four puppies looked for a temporary shelter to warm themselves up and protect themselves from the biting winter wind.

Thanks to their tenacious spirits, they found a gap in a wired fence and managed to crawl through it. They ended up settling in a makeshift shed in someone’s yard.

Not knowing what the future had in store for them, the pups held on for dear life and kept each other warm through the night.

Puppy Rescue

The family who owns the yard eventually noticed their new yard tenants. Unfortunately, they could not keep any of the puppies but they still wanted them to be safe. They ended up calling Howl Of A Dog to rescue the poor fur babies.

After hearing about the puppies’ situation, the shelter was more than willing to take the puppies under their wing. Rescuers quickly drove to where the puppies were.

They could immediately see how young the pups were and the terrible situation they had to go through. The pups were muddy, cold, and wet and they were cautious and withdrawn towards any humans at first.

But their hearts eventually warmed up to their rescuers and soon they were wagging their muddy tails with joy.

Safe at the Shelter

After arriving at the shelter, the pups were given warm baths and a full medical check-up. Fortunately, they were all healthy and had no puppy-related diseases.

The shelter named the pups Mindy, Millie, Molly, and Mara. The “M” names were because they were muddy, but now it’s because they’re tiny miracles.

In just a week, they quickly adjusted to their new shelter life and had no problems interacting and playing with the other animals in the shelter.

The rescuers are still puzzled about who could be so cruel to abandon such young and adorable puppies. In the end, they are just glad that the pups are now safe and warm.

Finding Warm and Loving Fur-Ever Homes

After their short stay in the shelter, Howl Of A Dog reports that all puppies have now found their own warm and loving fur-ever homes in Germany.

Mara, Milly, and Mindy were the first to be adopted, leaving Molly alone in the shelter. Eventually, Molly also found adoptive fur-parents and all pups now reside in Germany.

Life dealt them a bad and chilling hand but the generous hearts of animal lovers helped them have a second chance in life.
